Describe the spectrum of attitudes towards same sex sexuality in abrahamic religions. Why is there a wide range?

I am not 100% sure, but i think it's against the law in islam? or at least it's prohibited. And i think it's okay if you have feelings of that type of sexual nature, however if you act upon it, it's a sin? I am not an expert but I hope it helped a little.
