Michael surveyed the room earnestly, careful to note and absorb every last detail of the room that would be his for the next four years. Against the far wall sat a twin-sized bed, adorned with a checkered pattern of red and blue. At the foot of the bed, Michael noted a small stool with two folded blankets atop its corduroy surface. Beside the bed was a nightstand, and on the nightstand were two things: an alarm clock and a dimly lit lamp. With a deep sigh, Michael hoisted his bag into the room and plopped onto the bed. It would do...for now.
