When a positive and a negative multiply together the answer will always be negative
5 x -2 = -10
-10, Hope this helps!

This is similar to multiplying 5*2. The only difference is the -2. It would be -10 because 5*2 is 10 and there is only one negative number.
 If there was two negative numbers on the other hand they would cancel each other out leaving a positive number.
