They are vertical angles, thus they are equal to each other:

5x + 12 = 6x - 10
22 = x

x = 22

Answer 2

The angles are vertical so they are congruent. Set them equal to each other and solve for x

6x - 10 = 5x + 12 
6x = 5x + 22
x = 22
