If the endpoints of the diameter of a circle are (-14, 4) and (-2, 0) what is the standard form equation of the circle

Respuesta :

Do the distance formula first! The distance formula is d=√(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2. For this, you would do d= √(-2- -14)^2 + (0-4)^2. You would get  √(12)^2 + (-4)^2. The answers to those would be  √144 + 16, doing an eventual  √160.  √16 and  √10 go into  √160. The final answer is  4√10.

(x + 8)2 + (y − 2)2 = 40
