Why is there no mining in Antarctica, despite evidence of mineral resources on the continent?

if we break the ice there than Antarctica will all split up

It can be very dangerous and machines that we have are not that advanced yet. You might be able to bring something down there via ship but what if that machine freezes or if the boat gets stuck?
