There are actually 2 ways to do this, but I think way 1 is easiest.
Way 1) Divide the fractions' numerators by their denominators and see what you get.
2 ÷ 4 = 0.5
2 ÷ 6 = 0.33333333 (and repeating on and on)
As you can see, 0.5 is closer to 1 than 0.33333 is, if you put them on a number line. So, your answer is 2/4.

Way 2) Draw out 2 circles, and then divide 1 circle into 4 pieces and then the 2nd into 6 pieces. Then, take out 2 pieces of each pie. Which one has more pie missing? That's your answer. The first pie is your answer because HALF of it is missing, while the second pie is missing 1/3rd of the pie
One half is larger
Now we know our final answer - 2/4
