The Acts of Joseph McCarthy’s Senate Committee. The play was used portray the similarities
between McCarthy’s hut for communist spies and sympathizers with the Salem
Witch Hunts. Both were similar in a sense when people were arrested on
suspicion alone. Trials were unfair and
many lives were destroyed as a result.
People were put to do death while some lost their livelihood and their
reputation was destroyed even if they did not do anything. In the end, people began to question the
methods of how these investigations were being conducted and eventually it came
to a halt.
