The line, “O Scotland, Scotland!” occurs in Shakespeare’s
play, _Macbeth_. In the scene within which “O Scotland,
Scotland!” is said, Macduff is talking to Malcolm about the state of things in
Scotland and its king. When Macduff says
this, it is because he feels worry and sorrow for the state of things and for
about what is revealed to him about the kingdom.
