New Orleans, Louisiana, played a crucial role for French, a city founded in 1718, by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, on the lower Mississippi River.  The city, chosen between the Lake Pontchartrain in the north and Mississippi river in the south. New Orleans with several forts and trading posts helped in trade, for supply goods in Europe, it was considered to be a profitable trade network for the French.
