Nasal regurgitation it's when the food regurgitates out of the nose.
This is more likely to occur in babies/ young children with some birth defects in the soft palate, or if they have a cleft lip. Those birth defects, usually, get fixed with surgery  when they are still children, that's why is less frequent after that age.

Regurgitation refers to a process in which food or liquid returned back to the mouth or pharynx, after the food has been apparently swallowed. This is an esophagopharyngeal regurgitation. If nasopharynx fails to close during swallowing then esophagopharyngeal regurgitation can result in nasal regurgitation. This may happen in young ones, say 11 months old with birth defects in nasopahraynx closing structures.
