Which of the following could be a statement of theme in a story?

A)A policeman turns in a wanted criminal who happens to be an old friend.
B)family
C)loyalty
D)friendship
E)Even though it can be difficult, it is important to do the right thing.

A theme has to do with an underlying message. Often, a piece of writing will have more than one theme. So, I’d think the answer would be A. I’d think A would have a deep meaning to it if it was in a story.
E is also a good answer, but I don’t think it has enough depth to be a statement for a theme in a story.
