The two major controversies surrounding the use of the death
penalty are the following;

There are people who are convicted wrongfully –
they may wrongfully punish a person that is innocent

It has violated the rights of an individual in
regards to subjected to torture – it may be right to punish those who commit heinous
crimes but death is not something to be paid of
