It is first demonstrated in the preoperational stage. This stage is the 2nd stage in Piaget's theory. This stage starts around the age of 2 as children begin to make small talks and it lasts until about the age of 7. In addition, in this stage children starts to engage in symbolic plan and they learn to manipulate symbols.
