I would say that the themes which are reflected in Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour" are freedom and independence. After her husband dies, the narrator is of course sad and confused, but also feels free and independent for the first time in her life since she got married. She can finally do whatever she wants to.

Answer:

independence, freedom , labor

Explanation:

Independence is one of the themes since it appears as a forbidden pleasure, something which during those days , was unthinkable

Marriage is oppressing the protagonist. It is such a burden for her that it is compared to labor where there is no joy.

Freedom is a desire, freedom of thought as well as freedom of action.Dying for Louise would mean being free from the oppression of her marriage.
