Hey there! Being a wannabe Author, this just happens to be one of my zones! 

When looking for purpose's for/of writing something, first, you need to decided whether or not it will be for entertainment, expository(intended/explained)/informational, or persuasive. 

Research, however, is not something most people would want to be reading about.
