This problem statement is not entirely clear, so to respond to your question, I must make certain assumptions.  I'm assuming that you have on hand a pile of 2" by 2" sticks 2 feet long, and that you build the walkway of parallel sticks all perpendicular to the direction the walkway takes.

Thus, we must divide 60 feet by 2" to determine the number of sticks to use:

60 feet       12 in
----------- * -------- = 360 sticks 
      2"         1 ft

You could also figure that since it would take 6 sticks to make up 1 foot of walkway, we need only multiply 6 sticks by 60 feet.  The answer is the same:  360 sticks.
