Using two or more independent clauses joined by a coordinator conjunction and a dependent marker.
A compound-complex sentence is made of two simple sentences joined by a conjunction and one of the sentences are complex. So, it is a compound sentence with a dependent/subordinate clause
Example: We are going ice-skating, but first, I have to clean my room after we finish eating breakfast.
The dependent clause is in bold.
I hope this helps.
