Greg Heffley is the main protagonist in the ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ by Jeff Kinney. An antagonist, he possesses all attributes that Jeff Kinney owned when in middle school. Indolent, mischievous, mean, cowardly, unreliable, egotistical, he takes undue advantage of his friend and is a kind of a sociopath. He considers himself stuck among a bunch of morons. Quite conscious about his public appearance, he is always concerned about his popularity level.
He is usually dressed up in black shorts, black pants and wears a black tuxedo in his fantasies. Skinny, he neither eats much nor exercises much. Comics and video games keep him busy. He is good at singing and sewing. He always tries to blame others for his inappropriate behavior and very rarely admits being wrong.
He loves his brother Rodrick and is caring towards him. His best friend is Rowley whose father does not consider Greg a good influence on his son as Greg sometimes gets poor grades at school and hardly pays any heed to his parents. Greg wants to be famous when he grows up and has a crush on Holly Hills. He is a ‘wimp’, putting himself and his family into trouble often.
