First you have to set of the following


3 shirts =12.75
1 shirts = ?


Then you multiply across and divide parallel (1*12.75) then divide 3= 4.25 dollars


Second way is a little bit more steps : you do same step as way 1 then multiply by 2 then subtract it from the 12.75

12.75-(4.25*2)=4.25

She should have divided 12.75 by 3 and then subtract the answer from 12.75. 12.75/3=4.25 12.75-4.75=8 The correct amount for one t-shirt is $8. This relates to the unit rate because you had to find what the amount for one t-shirt was.
