Assessment is the general term used to describe the way in which learning and education are measured against standardised testing, this can come in the form of informal assessment, which may be made by an educator based on observations of a learner that the educator uses his/her expertise to determine a learners success or progress. Formal assessment is commonly found in the form of examinations, where a student will be tested on their knowledge and understanding of a subject where one will achieve a score out of the given test framework. An annual study plan is one which the student and teacher agree to a working course of study to gradually develop the knowledge and understanding of a given subject over the course of a year.
