Question 4(Multiple Choice Worth 3 points)

(03.03 LC)

Diagram of the brain showing four lobes labeled with numbers: #1 Lobe number one is found at the back of each hemisphere, but deals with visual interpretation. #2 Lobe number two is the middle region of each hemisphere, lying beneath the crown of the skull. It is the cognition part of the brain. #3 Lobe number three is located on the side of each hemisphere, behind the ears. It is associated with speech, hearing, and memory skills. #4 Lobe number four is the front part of each hemisphere. This lobe is the area we use for problem solving, judgment, and impulse control.

Which lobe is found in the area designated by label 2?

Temporal
Occipital
Parietal
Frontal

Cerebellum
Pons
Medulla oblongata
Hypothalamus

Respuesta :

1. The part of the brain that coordinates voluntary muscle movement is the CEREBELLUM. The correct option is C. The cerebellum is located at the back of the brain. Its functions is to coordinate voluntary muscle movement and to maintain posture, balance and equilibrium.
2. The central nervous system consist of the BRAIN AND THE SPINAL CORD. The correct option is A.  The central nervous system is responsible for integrating sensory information and responding accordingly. It is made up of two major components which are spinal cord and brain.
3. The lobe that is important for hearing is TEMPORAL LOBE. The temporal lobes are located on each side of the head above the ears. They control hearing and are related to smell, taste and short term memory.
4. The lobe which is found at the area designated as number 2 is FRONTAL LOBE. The frontal lobe is located just behind the skull of the forehead and it governs human's ability to think, reason, make judgement, organize information and control some motor functions.
5. The part of the brain that regulate thirst and hunger is the HYPOTHALAMUS. The correct option is D. Hypothalamus is the main regulatory organ for appetite and is also responsible for hormone production.  The hormone produced by hypothalamus is responsible for body temperature, thirst, hunger, mood, and sleep.
