Calypso is angry with Hermes when he informs her that she must let Odysseus leave her island. Explain some of her reasons for being upset.

Calypso had a curse put on her byone of the gods. The curse is that she will fall inlove with every man that find their way to her island. The curse then states that they must leave and never return again. Its a very cruel curse. falling in love over and over again only to get ur heart broken. what worse is thaty she know about the curse but she cannot stop herself from falling in love. :'(

Zeus sent Hermes to send a message to Calypso ordering her to let Odysseus return to his home. Calypso was angry because she has been with Odysseus for seven years allowing her to fall madly in love with him and the gods didn't condone seeing a goddess in love with a mortal.
