What does your experiment suggest about what happens when icebergs melt into the ocean? Based on your data, do you think the sea-surface temperatures are warmer or cooler due to the melting water? Make sure you explain how your experiment helps you answer this question.

Respuesta :

When icebergs melt into the ocean it could be many variables, including warmer ocean temperatures, and warmer air temperatures. For icebergs to melt then the temperatures are getting warmer, thus concluding that the ocean water is getting warmer melting the iceberg. think of a glass of  cold water with ice in it, over long periods of time the atmosphere temperature warms the water then slowly melting the ice in the glass. this is what's happening to icebergs in the ocean.

When icebergs melt it results in increase of water level of ocean.

What are icebergs?

  • "Icebergs are large chunks of ice that break off from glaciers."

Why icebergs melt?

  • Ice temperature is less than the melted water because of increasing temperature due to global warming.
  • Ice are being melted into water which will lead to rise in temperature of sea surface.
  • This can be observed by putting ice cube in a cup of water.

Hence, we can say that water level and temperature rises when icebergs are melt into oceans.
