Hello!

We can calculate it in different ways. I'll show you two ways to solve it:

1st way:

[tex]4\frac{1}{4}+5\frac{3}{4}[/tex]

We can sum fraction with fraction (because they have the same denominator) and sum integer with integer, look:

[tex]\begin{gathered} (\frac{1}{4}+\frac{3}{4})=\frac{4}{4}=1 \\ \\ 4+5=9 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Then, we will add the results:

[tex]1+9=10[/tex]

2nd way:

We can convert the fractions to decimals:

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{1}{4}=0.25 \\ \\ \frac{3}{4}=0.75 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Now we can sum it:

[tex]4+0.25+5+0.75=4.25+5.75=10[/tex]

Besides these two, there are other ways to solve this problem.

10.
