The number of nitrogen (N) atoms is 1
The number of hydrogen (H) atoms is 5 (the H4 AND the H)
The number of oxygen (O) atoms is 1
So, there are 3 different TYPES of element, but 7 atoms altogether in this compound.
However if you are referring to ammonia on its own, there are 4 atoms as ammonia is written as NH3, so has 1 nitrogen atom and 3 hydrogen atoms
