g(x) = x^2 - 6

both are equal to y, so

-5 + x = x^2 - 6

1 + x = x^2

1 = x^2 - x

x = 1.618 and x = -0.618

first

f(x) = -5 + x

f(x) = -5 + 1.618

y = -3.382

second

f(x) = -5 + x

f(x) = -5 + -0.618

y = -5.618

so the two points are

(1.618,-3.382) and (-0.618, -5.618)
