The general rule for a translation is:

[tex]P(x,y)\rightarrow P^{\prime}(x+a,y+b)[/tex]

In the given point (5,7), the x coordinate decrease by 6 and y coordinate increrase by 1:

[tex]\begin{gathered} \P(5,7)\rightarrow P^{\prime}(5-6,7+1) \\ \P(5,7)\rightarrow P^{\prime}(-1,8) \end{gathered}[/tex]Then the image of the given point is (-1,8)
