To solve for the value of x and y below:

Using SOHCAHTOA to determine the value of x and y

Hypotenuse = x

Opposit = 21

Adjacent = y

[tex]\begin{gathered} \sin \theta=\frac{opp}{hyp} \\ \sin 60=\frac{21}{x} \\ x=\frac{21}{\sin 60} \\ x=\frac{21}{0.8660} \\ x=24.25 \end{gathered}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} \tan \theta=\frac{opp}{adj} \\ \tan 60=\frac{21}{y} \\ y=\frac{21}{\tan 60} \\ y=\frac{21}{1.732} \\ y=12.12 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore the correct value for x = 24.25 and y = 12.12
