Fusion reactions power the sun and other stars. In a fusion reaction,  light nuclei merge to form a single heavier nucleus. The technique releases electricity due to the fact the total mass of the resulting unmarried nucleus is much less than the mass of the two unique nuclei. The leftover mass becomes energy.
