Needing help on question one. I have formulas but am not really sure what goes where.

So the equation that you need to use is Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2 * a* d .
Vi = 40 m/s
a = 5 m/s^2
d = 165 m
Solve for Vf.
Then, use the equation Vf = Vi + a* t
Vf = what you just solved for. 
Vi = 40 m/s
a = 5 m/s^2
solve for t.
