The appropriate response is New Deal. The fundamental objectives of the New Deal can be communicated in three words: Relief, Recovery, and Reform. The New Deal would have liked to give Relief from the agony brought about by the Great Depression. This was proficient by the Bank Holiday and expelling America from the Gold Standard.
