I need some help form my besties. I have this persuasive essay I have to write and I need help writing a counter argument of why children should have phones(in general). It needs to be why children shouldn't have phones. Please help!!m I have ten minutes until this class is over!!!

In today’s society many kids are walking around with cell phones.  Seventy seven percent of kids ages twelve to seventeen have a cell phone.  The main reasons why kids have cell phones are: safety, convenience, affordable, responsibility, and bonding through texting.

First, safety is the biggest issue for parents.  A kid having a cell phone can call home or emergency services when trouble arises.  It also gives the parent the ability to locate their whereabouts with GPS features.  Also, if kids are lost, hurt, scared, or witnessing an incident, the phone is there for them.  Life is getting more difficult and it is essential for a kid to carry a cell phone with them at all times for their safety and the parent’s peace of mind.

Students Shouldn't have phones because first they can be a distraction in class, they can cause students to harm themselves, and they can hurt others.

When students have their phones in class they can easily get distracted with games, social media, and more. If they don't do there work because of this they will fall behind and there grades will drop.

It can also cause student to harm themselves, students like to be caught up with the newest things and that means social media. Student may see people that look better than them and get upset. To comfort themselves they will try to lose weight, try to self harm, and can go into depression.

The last reason students shouldn't have phone's is because they can post harmful images, or words on social media that may hurt other students or people. These can hurt other people a lot and the student posting it can get in a lot of trouble for that.

Well theses are the three reasons students shouldn't have a phone. Phones  can be a distraction in class, cause students to harm themselves, and they can hurt others.
