Rumors can spread really fast around the world that are not true. Although they aren't true, people actually have a better chance of believing it, then believing the truth. For example, let's say a rumor like, "so and so went to Las Vegas and died." but the truth was "so and so went to Las Vegas and got married." Everytime a rumor gets passed on it gets changed until it has nothing to to with the first rumor. A rumor can start with something like. "That girl just farted oh my gosh." Then it can go to. "OMG! she just pooped her pants." And it could end up with something that couldn't even be true. It is based on how other people hear it, and how they say it when they pass it on. Only some will know the truth, but more than neccesary will know the rumor.
