What is the importance of this quote

"For the English, life is about not happiness but muddling through, getting by. In that sense, they are like the ancient Aztecs. When an Aztec child was born, a priest would say, "You are born into a world of suffering; suffer then and hold your peace." There is something noble in that attitude, that quiet suffering.

Answer: This quote, shows brute honesty of what life is like. yes, to live in this world, in a way is to indeed suffer. But, to suffer in silence and to over come it, yes is noble. The quite suffering is as though to be the "strong silent type" and to hold within your burdens, and not let anyone see your pain, this can destroy a person. But many hide it thinking they are stronger this way. The importance is truth, that this quote can portray just what life is, to suffer in silence. Happiness is not a natural like breathing, it is simply luxury of life. To make or find happiness is not something done as though 2nd nature, but as a task of the human mind and emotions.
