In the early 1800s, most education was completed at home, as families thought it was best to be able to read the bible, write letters, and complete basic math (that was related to their jobs).
In the early 18th century most of the education took place at the homes with family members as tutors. It was a common trend in the new England region, though this was rare in the southern region.
After late 1800 it underwent changes such as the introduction of Kindergarten a german model. The beginning of the standard schooling followed after.
