In August 1940, Germany bombed airfields and factories in England, had air battles and daylight raids over Britain, declared a blockade of the British Isles and in September, planned “Operation Sea Lion”, where he aimed to invade Britain. The multitude of events which occurred in Hitler’s favour during the 1940s therefore provide reason for his peak of power by the end of the time period.
