The stamp act is an act proposed by the British Parliament on 1765. It suggested that all the states needed to put a stamp on newspapers and every document they issue as a tax for the paper.
Of course, the colonists didn't support the act because they felt they were unfairly taxed, and made resistance groups and demolished the homes of the government bureaucrats.
