after doing some searching i read that Walden Pond, the deepest lake in Massachusetts, lies in the northeast part of the state near the city of Concord. It is a kettle lake, created about ten thousand years ago when continental ice from the last ice age began to retreat.

and there are many more famous places that have been created through the movements the ice makes.
