In fact, Gatsby is a corrupt man who has extremely deplorable actions, but there were a thousand ways to make him pay for it more fairly, showing that corruption is not the way to happiness and that greed corrupts.
Gatsby did not deserve what he got. Everything he did proved his unfaltering love for Daisy. He worked through poverty and rose to a position of power because he knew he would never win Daisy’s love otherwise.
