without recognition or reward. the fact that they pursue growth motives
in the absence of safety and security argues against Maslow's idea that
needs are organized as
a hierarchy.
The American psychologist Abraham Maslow proposed the model of hierarchy of needs, in which needs from lower levels must be satisfied before individuals can attend to needs higher up.
