The utility companies often sell electric power at night at much lower prices since the demand for electric power is usually much higher during the day. The owner of a four-story Hotel would like to take advantage of this opportunity. The owner decides to design a pump piping system that delivers water from the lake to the large pool (or reservoir) located on the roof of the Hotel. As a hired mechanical engineer, you are supposed to design this piping pump system by selecting the desired pipe size, flow rate and all necessary fittings, and determine the horsepower of the pump required for such a delivery.
