My Mom gave me $10.00.
My Dad Gave me $30.00.
My Aunt & Uncle gave me $100.00.
I had another $7.00.
How much did I have?

We need to add to the $3.00 we have at the start, what they gave him:

He started with $3.00 and received $10.00:

3.00 + 10.00 = $13.00

Then (when having $13.00) received $30.00:

13.00 + 30.00 = $43.00

Then (when having $43.00) received $100.00:

43.00 + 100.00 = $143.00

Then (when having $143.00) he had another $7.00:
