I realized something else. It didn't matter if Iqbal
was nineteen or if he was twelve when he was
murdered. It didn't matter whether he was killed
by local carpet manufacturers whose factories he
was forcing to close, or by local jealousy because
he was a Christian child travelling and getting an
education, or by the man known as Ashraf. All
that mattered was that his work was still not over
and that we were challenged to continue it. In his
life and in his death he moved the hearts of those
who heard his story. That will never be in doubt.
