The lens allows for focusing light and accommodating which means changing shape according to distance the object is away from the eye.
The cornea : Protects the lens and absorbs most of the UV rays and also help refract some of the light entering the eye even before it is refracted by the lens. It can be compared to the glass part of the lens.
The Iris The iris is responsible for controlling the amount of light entering the eye by contracting and relaxing certain muscles in the eye(circular and radial)
it controls the size of the pupil. This can be compared to the aperture which allows certain amount of light into the camera. The pupil is the part controlled by the iris and is basically the shutter of the camera which opens or closes by the force of the iris.
Retina the retina is where the light focuses after being refracted by the lens. This part of the eye can be compared to the Large sensors in a camera where the image is formed.
Optic Nerve The optic nerve is responsible to send the signals received by the rod and cone cells to the brain. This can be compared to a wire connecting the computer found near the sensor, to the Screen of the camera.
