The answer you are looking for is:
Step 1: (d-1)(d+2)=d^2+d-2
Step 2: (d-3)(d^2+d-2) = d^3+d^2-2d-3d^2-3d+6 = d^3-2d^2-5d+6

Your answer is
 d^3-2d^2-5d+6
