Sweating is a thermoregulation process done by the body to maintain its internal temperature.

Explanation:

Thermoregulation is necessary to maintain a equilibrium state or homeostasis in the body.  Sweating is a cooling thermoregulation mechanism done when the body should cool down in order to lower the internal temperature. Heat signals cause the hypothalamus to respond and activate the sweat glands to secrete sweat (waste materials dissolved with water) which comes out through the pores present on the skin surface to cool down the body. Evaporation of surface water from the skin makes the body cool and maintain the internal temperature.
