Nations like Brazil and Indonesia started to industrialize later than the nations that are considered developed. This set them back economically. In order to develop their economies, Brazil and Indonesia have been developing their industry, but that is done by destroying the rainforest, which of often criticized by the developed nations. The developing nations are saying that this is hypocritical and rightly so, but they still can do something that will be beneficial for both their economies, and the environment. Instead of ruining their rainforests, Brazil and Indonesia can use them to develop some of their industries without destroying, as the rainforests have enormous economic potential. The pharmaceutical industry would a good choice, as the rainfroests have pretty much every ingredient needed for this industry. They are natural producers of food without any investment, and it is organic food, highly demanded and well paid in the world, thus it can be another interesting industry to focus on. And of course, there's also the tourism, as there are millions of people that are interested in visiting the tropical rainforests, and it can bring in lot of profit.
