Answers: 1. The Gulf Stream

                2. The stream makes the Isles warmer for their location

Explanation:

1. The Gulf Stream

The Gulf stream is an ocean current that forms in the Gulf of Mexico from where it leaves to the Atlantic by the Straits of Florida. This stream displaces a large mass of warm water into the North Atlantic, approaching higher temperatures where it meets a colder air.

It is this difference in temperature between the warm water mass of the sea and the cold air of the lower layer of the atmosphere that causes the pressure differences that determine the climate of Europe, especially the climate of the British Isles.

2. The stream makes the Isles warmer for their location

The Gulf Stream directly influences the climate of the British Isles, simply because this mass of warm water gets into the cold waters of the area.

This difference of temperature in the circulation of these currents assure the islands a warmer climate for the latitude in which they are located.
