PART B

PMichael=3g+12

PKensley=4g+8

To find when they have equal amount of points just set each equation equal to each other.

3g+12=4g+8 moving all g variables to one side and all constants to the other side

3g+12-3g-8=4g+8-8-3g now we have;

g=4 so when they each score 4 goals their point total will be the same. Doing systems of equations we generally set it up this way;

3g+12

4g+8

Now subtract one equation from the other;

g=4 same result just a slightly different style of doing it.

PART C

To find the number of goals for when Kensley begins to outscore Michael, we already know when they have 4 goals each they are equal in points. Let’s find that value;

3(4)+12=24

4(4)+8=24

So logic tells us if at 4 goals they are equal in points, then at 5 goals I bet Kensley overtakes Michael. Let’s find out;

3(5)+12=27

4(5)+8=28

So Kensley outscores Michael at 5 goals!

Hope this helps you understand better! Any questions please feel free to ask! Thanks and have a great day!
